James 1:21

jam1.21.001God brought us forth by the word of truth with the purpose of making us stand out in a particular way among all his creatures for His purpose. God does this but He uses His word.  Our faith is the victory when the object of our faith is God’s promise.

This means we should take great importance in coming to God through His word.  We put off any hindrance; filthiness and wickedness and anything contrary to the Word.  Our minds are a battle ground. What we allow to enter will be what eventually comes out. When we allow filthiness and wickedness to enter, this will cause our demise, slavery and relational separation

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, Hebrews 12:1 NIV

Throwing off and putting aside have to do with the first step in the process of mind renewal to occur. We stop being presented to the flesh (sinful nature) and present ourselves to the Spirit (knowing that we died with Christ to the sinful nature’s power to rule).

Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:1-2

We want to be quick to listen, receive the Word, diligently presented to Him through His Word. The Spirit led walk is always according to the revealed Word. The implication is we are to know the Word first to be able to count on it by faith.

Give diligence to present thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, handling aright the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15 ERV

Salvation is of the Lord. This means that God saves us from the penalty of sin the moment we place our faith in Jesus Christ as God who took our punishment for sin on the cross and died, then  rose from the dead in victory over sin and death! God also saves (delivers) the believer from the power of sin when he walks in dependence of God.

And call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.” Psalm 50:15 ESV
